Detent Positioning

Detent Positioning means that a mechanism will allow a definite amount of stops or catches for positional adjustment within the range of travel. Simple detent mechanisms only have detents for open and close while others have multiple defined detents in a rotary travel (90° or 10° increments for example). Note that reduced holding torques apply when not in detent.
