Counterbalance

Counterbalance mechanisms feature compression, torsion or extension springs to resist downward force (gravity + weight of lid) and provide lift assist for user control. They may also be spring-loaded for self-close. Counterbalance mechanisms may or may not include infinite position control from open to close.
